This role sits within Supply Chain Operations (SCO), which supplies and delivers logistics, materials, components, and fleet that enable maintenance and renewal of the railway.

Our recycling centers process used rail, switches, crossings, and ballast, reducing road journeys and landfill costs, contributing to sustainability and cost reduction.
Our work involves maintaining, renewing, and enhancing the railway while responsibly managing waste through recycling initiatives, such as reusing concrete sleepers and recycling steel and concrete.
This role is a great opportunity to start your career with Network Rail. You will be responsible for driving and contributing to your development to ensure success and value as a team member.
As a MHD (Materials Handling Depot) Operative, you will work safely, checking tools, equipment, and materials, ensuring they are fit for use and properly stored or disposed of.
Once trained, you will undertake associated duties on-site, working safely and efficiently.
The ideal candidate
* Able to work as part of a team
* Effective communication skills, verbally and in writing
* Knowledge of organizing and controlling safe and efficient work delivery
* Willing and able to drive vehicles as required

Salary range: £34,381 per annum
