Applications are invited for a Locum Consultant Urological Surgeon based on the Newham and Whipps cross sites for Barts Health. We are looking for a Consultant Urological Surgeon to help with the overall workload of the Urology department. This post is to support the diagnostic and core urology work in the department.
Key duties will be supervising and running operating lists, acute and specialist clinics, diagnostics, on call cover, ward rounds, and care for patients on wards in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, including ward and specialist nursing teams. The unit is very active in research, education and audit and the post holder will be expected to fully participate in all the above activities.
You must hold full registration with the General Medical Council with a license to practise.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. MB BS, or equivalent FRCS (Urol) or equivalent
2. CCST (or within 6 months of date of interview)
Desirable criteria
3. Higher degree, e.g. MD/PhD
Knowledge
Essential criteria
4. Widespread broad based knowledge of all aspects of Urological surgery
Desirable criteria
5. Widespread broad based knowledge of all aspects of Urological surgery
Training
Essential criteria
6. Higher Specialist Training in Urological surgery.
7. Experience in training undergraduates and postgraduates
8. Experience in general urology
9. Experience in Emergency Urology
10. Experience in Endourology, lithotripsy & TRUS Biopsy
Desirable criteria
11. Experience of Novel prostatic techniques
12. Experience in transperineal prostate biopsy
Management/ Audit Experience
Essential criteria
13. Able to provide evidence of clinical audit and demonstrate understanding of impact and challenges this brings.
14. Ability to demonstrate knowledge and awareness of current and future NHS challenges and strategy.
15. Ability to support team members in business planning via collaboration and discussion.

Research
