A vacancy has arisen for a Sgt (Logs (Sup)) to serve as A4 Logs at HQ 6 FTS RAFC Cranwell on Full Time Reserve Service (LC) Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS) with an initial proposed start date of 01 June 2026 (or earlier/later, subject to candidate status). 6 FTS is the largest and most diverse military flying training school in the country. From its HQ at RAF Cranwell, the school manages a broad range of flying tasks, from Elementary Flying Training on University Air Squadrons to the provision of Air Experience Flying (AEF) for RAFAC. The successful applicant will be part of the 6 FTS HQ Strategy & Plans team who are responsible for short-term delivery of support to 17 squadrons in total, of which 15 are university air sqns (UAS). Future tasks will also include being an integral team member supporting the development of the UAS Org as part of Project TELUM. Responsible for Task Requirements Short-term Support as required to the 17 x 6 FTS squadrons (15 x university air squadrons plus 115 Sqn and 16 Sqn) in the following areas: Primary Tasks: working with SO2 Delivery to: Support as applicable, the 6 FTS squadrons in regard to Articles in Use (AinU) inventory and demand management. Support squadrons in regard to Management of the Joint Deployed Inventory (MJDI) for equipment and kit demands, and act as a conduit into MJDI for those squadrons that have difficulty accessing this supply system. Squadron MT vehicle management. Support squadrons day-to-day supply activities, to include Scaling (clothing), SES and FLAPs SME support to HQ staff with regard to fuels management. General Tasks – working with SO2 Delivery to: Support the squadrons and the 6 FTS Prime contractor, Babcock International Group (BIG) for GFE/ GSE equipment, their management, maintenance and calibration (where required) Liaison with external support agencies including but not exclusively to DECA DE&S, DFAP, DIO/DEO, 22 Gp Logs FS, HQ Air A4 SCM, HQ Air A4 Fuels, HQ Air A4 Commodities and HQ Air Infra Infra – Liaison with stns, Air Infra and DIO/DEO where the requirement is beyond the capability of the host station to deliver Parenting – Liaison between HQ Air A4 Parenting and stns when there is a requirement to establish a parenting agreement or make changes to existing parenting agreements Ability to operate autonomously, and ability to work remotely, with frequent UK travel (within TCoS limits) Lead and represent 6 FTS HQ at virtual stakeholder conference calls with Sqn staff, contractors and various departments across the MOD. Task Requirements Long-term As Project TELUM develops, the successful applicant, as part of the Strat Plans team, will provide A4 Subject Matter Expert support and guidance to Comdt 6 FTS and the TELUM project team.
