Role Title

Early Years Practitioner

Where

RKSBrightsparks, Balne Lane Community Centre, Wakefield, WF2 0DP

When

Agreed hours between Monday-Friday, 8:30-3:30, Term time only

Duties

* To assist in the setting up and clearing away of all activities and equipment
* To help support children's progress in all areas of their development by assisting in their play and learning activities.
* To safeguard children from harm and report any concerns to management
* To plan activities based on children's interests and follow key child's learning through observations and assessments
* Promote British values amongst the children
* Help prepare meals (where food hygiene and training is given)
* Maintain confidentiality in the setting
* Develop and maintain relationships with parents

Reporting To

Kelly Commons and Rachel Hannah

Skills To Gain

* This is an interesting opportunity offering the chance to:
* Engage in learning and play activities with 2 – 5 year olds and to enhance your communication and interactive skills with this age group
* Develop your knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum
* Gain experience working with a highly skilled and friendly tem who support staff with their CPD and learning

Training

Appropriate induction and training will be given to help support you to fulfil this role. Regular supervisions allow us to plan effective times to plan for CPD and to discuss performance. Ongoing support and learning opportunities.

Other

All staff are expected to have an enhanced DBS check and be placed on the update service. All previous convictions must be disclosed upon application and any failure to disclose any reason that you may be unsuitable to work with children may mean legal action is taken against you. Other checks will also highlight any areas of concern that may affect your application. References will also be required to check suitability.
