Teaching Assistant | SEMH Specialist | Canterbury Academics are recruiting on behalf of a well-respected SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health) provision in Canterbury for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support learners requiring targeted social and emotional support.

This Teaching Assistant role is ideal for someone who thrives in a positive, inclusive environment and has the skills to nurture confidence, resilience, and academic engagement in children facing behavioural and emotional barriers to learning.
The Role: Provide targeted support to pupils with SEMH needs in both small groups and one-to-one settings Help deliver personalised strategies to support learning, self-regulation, and positive behaviour Assist with planning, implementing, and adapting lessons under teacher guidance Promote a calm, supportive, and structured classroom environment Build strong, respectful relationships with pupils to support emotional wellbeing Monitor progress and contribute to records, reports, and planning meetings Who we're looking for: Have experience supporting children with SEMH needs (in a school or related setting) Are patient, resilient, and able to respond positively to challenging behaviour Work well independently and as part of a supportive team Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills Are committed to inclusive education and empowering every xxuwjjq learner Available 5 days per week £90
