Overview
We are recruiting two Research Fellows / Senior Research Fellows in Digital Engineering for Gas Turbines at the Rolls-Royce University Technology Centre for Computational Engineering (University of Southampton). This is a multi-partner Innovate UK funded project to develop digital engineering technologies to accelerate the design of the next generation of gas turbine engines.
Responsibilities
* Develop novel ML/DL methods that leverage computational and experimental data to accelerate gas turbine design and improve through-life performance predictions.
* Apply and extend ML/DL methods in collaboration with industrial partners.
* Demonstrate and disseminate research in high-impact journals and at international conferences.
* Work with numerical modelling (e.g., CFD and FEA) as part of a team with industry partners.
Qualifications
* PhD or equivalent in a relevant discipline (or demonstrable equivalent experience).
* Experience in development of machine/deep learning methods for engineering.
* Experience with numerical modelling (CFD/FEA) and collaborating in multi-disciplinary teams.
* Ability to disseminate research through publications and conferences.
This full-time post is a fixed-term contract until 30 September 2028.
