Overview
An established and forward-thinking construction business is seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to join its expanding General Works division. The Role
As a Contracts Manager, you will oversee multiple general works projects across the region, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards. You will take responsibility for full project lifecycle management, supporting site teams, liaising with clients, and ensuring commercial and programme targets are achieved.
Key Responsibilities

Manage 3–4 concurrent projects, typically valued between £100,000–8 million.

Oversee all site activities, ensuring compliance with health & safety and company procedures.
*
Lead, support, and mentor Site Managers and project teams.
*
Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners.
*
Monitor project progress, resolve issues, and ensure timely delivery.
*
Work closely with commercial teams to manage budgets, forecasts, and variations.
*
Drive quality standards and ensure projects meet specification.
*
Represent the business professionally at progress meetings and handovers.
About You
*
Proven experience as a Contracts Manager within the construction sector.
*
Strong knowledge of general works or similar multi-sector project environments.
*
Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
*
Ability to manage multiple sites and teams simultaneously.
*
Commercial awareness and understanding of budgets and cost control.
*
Motivated, personable, and able to build strong working relationships.
