Job Title: Hotel Receptionist

Hours: 40 hours per week, 5 shifts over 7 days on a rotating basis
About the Role
We are currently seeking a friendly, professional, and customer-focused Hotel Receptionist to join our front-of-house team in Hertfordshire. This is a full-time position requiring flexibility to work across a 7-day operation, including weekends and varying shift patterns.
Key Responsibilities
Greet guests warmly upon arrival and ensure a smooth check-in/check-out process
Handle guest queries, complaints, and requests efficiently and professionally
Manage bookings, cancellations, and special requests via phone, email, and in person
Maintain accurate records and operate the front desk system
Liaise with housekeeping and other departments to ensure a seamless guest experience
Provide information about the hotel, local area, and amenities
Handle cash, card transactions, and issue invoices as required
Ensure the front desk and reception area are clean and presentable at all times
Shift Patterns
You will work 5 shifts per week on a rotating basis. The following shift times apply across a 7-day operation:
Morning Shift: 07:00 – 15:30
Mid Shift: 10:00 – 18:00
Evening Shift: 15:00 – 23:00
Please note: Weekend availability is essential for this role.
Skills and Experience Required
Previous experience in a hotel or customer service role is highly desirable
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A professional and welcoming manner
Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure
Good computer literacy; experience with booking/reservation systems is an advantage
Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and bank holidays
