Our Customer Delivery Driver rate of pay starts from £13.35 an hour; this increases to £14.56 for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may also apply depending on location.
It’s our policy to offer new colleagues joining us a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week, but if you’d like to work fewer hours (to a minimum of 12) we have opportunities for this too and would still love to hear from you.
The table shows the periods of time in the week we’d like you to be available to work – the availability windows. We will schedule your contracted hours within these times, and you’ll have 3 weeks’ notice of exactly when your shifts will be. We are happy to support flexibility for our colleagues, therefore if the times you’re available to work match closely but not exactly to the times we are advertising, we’d still love to hear from you. Our Customer Delivery Drivers get the opportunity to meet and talk to different customers in their homes every day. For most of the day, you’ll feel like your own boss, delivering to your customers, but there is always a team of Managers and colleagues back at base ready to support you when needed.

Customer-focused service
As the face of Tesco on the road, you’ll deliver from Lands’ End to John O’Groats, meeting and talking to customers in their homes daily. This role involves more than driving: helping others and providing excellent service with a smile.
It’s a hands-on, physical role full of variety. No two shifts are the same, and customers seek help in many ways. You’ll be largely independent, delivering to your customers, with support from your team back at the store.

Responsibilities
* Delivering your part of the shopping trip, ensuring the van and trays are clean and organized.
* Leaving the delivery area tidy, picking up litter, and maintaining cleanliness.
* Washing trays as part of the process.
* Loading the van, checking its roadworthiness.
* Communicating with customers about order changes, substitutions, and refunds.
* Handling products carefully and delivering within the agreed time slot.
* Calling customers before early arrivals and informing the store if running late.
Requirements
* Build positive relationships with colleagues.
* Be warm and welcoming in interactions.
* Respond quickly to customer needs and embrace change.
* Be energetic and driven to exceed expectations.
* Share ideas for store improvement.
* Hold a valid UK/EU/EEA Driving licence (Full or Automatic) for at least 12 months with no more than 3 penalty points.
