Quantity SurveyorLocation: BridlingtonSalary: £40K-£60K (DOE) + £6.5K-£7.5K Car Allowance + Annual bonusOverviewAn established organisation within the construction sector is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to manage the commercial aspects of contracts. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring financial control across projects, supporting efficient delivery, and maximising value throughout the project lifecycle.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain effective working relationships with clients, consultants, and the supply chainProcure subcontractors in line with programme requirements and internal policiesAdminister subcontract agreements and manage contractual obligationsAssess subcontractor applications accurately and issue payment notices in a timely mannerPrepare and submit external valuations in accordance with contract requirementsManage and forecast project valuations through to final account agreementMeasure quantities from drawings and on-site where requiredEvaluate and manage variations and provisional sums, ensuring accurate cost controlOversee weekly payments for direct labour and plant subcontractors (where applicable)Produce internal valuations, cost value reconciliations, and subcontract liabilities in line with reporting deadlinesMaintain accurate and comprehensive project recordsIdentify and communicate project delays alongside the wider project teamImplement effective change management procedures in line with contract conditionsMinimise non-recoverable costs across projectsPrice and negotiate project variations effectivelyRequirementsHND, Degree, or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (desirable)Minimum of three years' experience within the construction sectorWorking knowledge of standard forms of contract, including NEC and JCTProficiency in Microsoft Office applicationsValid CSCS card (desirable)Full UK driving licenceSkills & AttributesStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levelsHigh attention to detail and accuracyStrong organisational and planning capabilitiesAbility to meet deadlines and manage competing prioritiesProactive in providing updates on key deliverablesSelf-motivated with a focus on continuous professional developmentProfessional and courteous approachEffective negotiation skillsBenefits:Car allowance or company carAnnual bonus (subject to company/personal performance)Auto Enrol Pension27 days holiday plus bank holidays (plus 1 extra day after 5 years' service, 1 extra day after 10 years' service)Birthday LeaveBuy/Sell holiday schemeHybrid Working available for some rolesMedicash SchemeBenefit Hub - shopping discountsFree will writing service through The Will GuysEmployee Assistance Programme through Health AssuredCycle 2 Work Scheme
