The organisation: John Lyons Foundations history dates from 1572, when John Lyon, a farmland owner from north-west London, was granted a Royal Charter from Queen Elizabeth I to develop a school for boys, Harrow School, and to provide a charitable endowment which over time has become John Lyons Foundation. Today, our founders original educational and charitable intents have an esteemed reputation with a global reach. The Foundation oversees Harrow School, John Lyon School, a family of international schools and three other subsidiaries that generate income for its charitable purposes.The Foundations office is situated in Harrow on the Hill, northwest London. The role: You will join at an exciting time, as the Foundation establishes a new office function to support the growth of the Harrow International Schools Limited (HISL) family and the increasing scope of the John Lyons Foundation (JLF) to identify and develop new business opportunities for the organisation. This is a new position, where you will have the chance to shape and influence the parameters of the role. You will support the day-to-day work of the HISL Chairman and the Chief Financial and Commercial Officer (CFCO). Duties will include researching and drafting board papers, minuting meetings (up to and including Board level), and managing key documentation created by the HISL Senior Executive team and for the CFCO.For more information please review the job description attached as a separate document to the advertisement on the School vacancies page. The skills: You will have comprehensive experience of working with C-suite executives as an executive assistant or similar role. You will be comfortable researching and drafting board papers that provide insightful, actionable recommendations. As a practical, pragmatic individual you will relish the opportunity to design administrative systems, procedures and workflows to create an efficient document management environment. Using your strong organisational skills, you will coordinate meetings for senior executives and manage the timely completion of the projects assigned to you. Your accomplished written and verbal communication skills and tactful, approachable manner will reflect the John Lyons Foundations brand and enable you to build strong professional relationships throughout the organisation.
