Key Responsibilities
 * Process new Education, Health and Care Needs Assessments (EHCNAs) within statutory timescales.
 * Support the drafting, issuing, and reviewing of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
 * Maintain accurate records and data within the council's case management systems.
 * Liaise with parents, carers, schools, and other professionals to coordinate information required for assessments.
 * Track and monitor the progress of assessments, ensuring all statutory deadlines are met.
 * Prepare and issue correspondence, reports, and documentation in line with data protection and council procedures.
 * Support the resource allocation and placement process for children with EHCPs.
 * Contribute to improving processes to ensure timely service delivery and compliance with legal requirements.
 * Provide general administrative and clerical support to the SEND service and senior officers.
Essential Skills & Experience
 * Strong administrative background, preferably within local government or education.
 * Experience in processing statutory assessments or similar casework.
 * Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
 * Attention to detail with the ability to handle confidential information sensitively.
 * Proficient in MS Office and database systems.
 * Strong communication and interpersonal skills when dealing with parents and professionals.
 * Knowledge of SEND legislation (Children and Families Act 2014, SEN Code of Practice) is desirable.
