Introduction
Planning and Management: Creating a clear project vision and ensuring a strong safety culture at all levels. This will involve managing the implementation of contracts and overseeing scope and schedule to ensure a safe project environment with the use of internal and external personnel.
* Appointing Competent Teams: Verifying that all individuals and organisations appointed have the necessary skills, knowledge, and experience (SKE) to carry out their roles safely and are approved under our strict PQQ process.
* Information Coordination: Gathering and providing information to designers and contractors. They must also ensure a Construction Phase Plan (CPP) is in place before work begins and that a Health and Safety File is prepared or updated for the finished project.
* Risk Management: Leading the effort to identify, eliminate, or control foreseeable risks during the design and construction phases.
* Communication: Facilitating cooperation and coordination between all duty holders to ensure safety remains paramount.
What we are looking for
Academic and Professional Qualifications:
* Undergraduate degree in fields of Construction Management, Civil Engineering or equivalent.
* Health and Safety Certification such as:
o NEBOSH Health and Safety Management for Construction
o IOSH Managing Safely
o SMSTS (desirable)
o CDM Roles & Responsibilities (desirable)
Vocational Qualifications:
* Professional Memberships:
o Accreditation from bodies such as the Association for Project Management (APM), CIOB, or RICS demonstrates a commitment to professional standards.
* Highly desirable:
o Level 6 or 7 NVQ Diploma in Construction Senior Management.
o Level 6 NVQ Diploma in Construction Site Management.
Core Competencies:
* Technical Knowledge: Understanding of construction processes relevant to the Solar Industry.
* Leadership and Soft Skills: Strong communication, organisational ability, and the capacity to manage contractual disputes and change control.
* Legal Awareness: Deep familiarity with summary of duties under Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 and the specific CDM roles and duties as defined by the HSE.
* Proven track record of delivering projects using the CDM 2015 principles.
* Able to identify specific roles under CDM and assign them accordingly.
* Continuing Professional Development (CPD): A commitment to regular training and recertification (typically every five years) against frameworks like the APM Competence Framework for Project Managers.
Your tasks
* Ownership to ensure HSE & CDM regulations are followed throughout the timeline of the project.
* Develop and maintain strong, long‑term relationships with Clients & Landowners, providing regular updates on their asset’s performance. Ensuring the smooth running of operations by addressing any concerns.
* Working with engineers, contractors, suppliers and clients to improve service delivery.
* Take ownership of all tickets involving project specifics, ensuring correct prioritisation of work, keeping the client up to date with progress and contractual compliance.
* Working closely with the Accounts team, providing financial information as required whilst using company formats and tools.
* Ensure compliance with all contractual obligations, regulatory requirements, third‑party agreements and health & safety standards.
