Job responsibilities
* The post is offered as full-time with no on-call under the co-supervision of Mr Girish Vajramani. You will gain experience in all aspects of surgery but will support primarily with functional surgery including Spinal Cord Stimulator (SCS) devices and Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS).
* During this year you will often be working at consultant level, running lists and clinics independently as well as under supervision, facilitating a transition from trainee to fully independent consultant practice.
* Study leave will be granted to attend courses pertinent to Functional Neurosurgery; local courses are available for developing leadership, teaching and interview skills in preparation for consultant appointment. Audit and research activities in the department will be encouraged.

Qualifications and experience
* MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
* GMC registration with a licence to practise
* FRCS(Neurosurgery) or equivalent/neurosurgery training
* Functional Neurosurgery experience; multi-disciplinary working
* Publishing experience in neurosurgery (desirable)
Salary and conditions
Basic Salary MT04 £65,048; MT05 £73,992. Salary will be assessed based on experience and skills. Nodal point criteria include:
* Minimum 6 years of Specialty training
* Higher specialty exam
* Portfolio of evidence demonstrating progression criteria
Note: Travelling expenses for interview not paid; GMC registration and right to work in the UK are essential. Skilled Worker sponsorship will be considered where applicable.
