We have an exciting opportunity for a Mental Health Clinical Lead to join our Mental Healthteam atHMP Present, a category BPrison located inPreston.

HMP Preston is a remand male prison age from 18 + and a capacity of 680.

The Mental Health Clinical Lead will be based in the mental health inpatient unit based in the healthcare department and some expectations to work om the wing.
You will be managing a team of 8 includingmental health nurses and PWP,

Hours:

* This role is based on 37.5
* Monday - Friday 8.30am - 4.30pm completing probation we can look working 37.5 over 4 days
* 1 / 4 weekends a month

Salary:

This position isfull time,you’ll receive an annual salary up to £42094 - £47466per annum FTE - depending on experience.

Candidates are required to have a Legal right to work in the UK on a permanent basis and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.

What you'll be doing

As aMental Health Clinical Lead, your responsibilities will vary. You will

* Work as part of and lead theMental Health team within the Integrated Healthcare Services team.
* Provide clinical leadershipand management to Registered nurses and allied health professionals.
* Establish inter-agency workingwhere necessary to ensure good communication increases quality of care for patients.
* Ensuring that ownclinical practice is consistent with autonomous practice within the role.
* Based on the Wellbeing Approach and Practice Plus mental Health policy, provide nursing triage and screening and assessment.
* Actively participate with the development of local operating procedures to ensure pathways are clearfor clinicians
* Ensuring all complaints / concerns relating to Mental Health are dealt with in a timely fashion.
* Nurse lead treatment or care within mental health
* Confirm waiting list are well managed ensuring minimal waiting times for patients
* Medicines management/advice including supporting medicine administration

Qualifications required

* Registered Mental Health Nurse - NMC
* BSc or equivalent qualification
* Experience of providing supervision
* Teaching / Mentoring experience and /or qualificationExperience
* Evidence of appropriate continuing professional developmentactivity to maintain up-to-date knowledge and on-goingcompetence in all aspects of the role

Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
