Make a real impact as a Academic Mentor
Are you a patient, resilient and experienced tutorwho can build strong relationships with young people? We are looking for a dedicated 1:1 mentor to support a secondary students.
This role is about more than academic support. You’ll use your GCSE Maths expertise to help the students build confidence, re-engage with learning and work towards their qualifications, while providing consistent, supportive mentoring. We’re looking for someone who is calm, reliable and able to adapt their approach to meet individuals needs, whilst creating a safe and motivating learning environment.
Job Title: KS3, GCSE and A Level Tutors
Location: Hackney
Days/Times: During school hours
Rate: between £30-35 per hour
Requirements
We're looking for someone who has:
* A Bachelor’s degree
* 1+ years of tutoring / teaching experience
* Experience working with students with SEN and/or SEMH needs (preferred)
* An ability to adapt lessons to suit different learning styles and needs
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* The right to be self employed in the UK
What You'll Do
* Develop and deliver tuition programmes in small groups or 1:1
* Provide tuition that is appropriate for the individuals/groups needs and study level
* Assessing any barriers to student’s learning and working to overcome these
* Monitoring student progress and producing reports
* Creating a positive and supportive learning environment
* Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of the curriculum content and qualification frameworks you're providing subject tuition in
* Regularly reporting updates to the Tuition Programmes Manager
