Job details

Full‑time, permanent, Emsworth (PO10 7DY), office‑based, salary up to £40k (with FF&E and significant Revit experience)

About the Role

Chalk is a specialist FF&E and Commercial Catering Design Consultancy shaping the next generation of learning and working environments across the UK. From independent schools to full‑scale DfE projects, and now expanding into the commercial sector, we’re designing smarter, more agile spaces that work as hard as the people who use them.

We’re looking for a junior‑level FF&E & Catering Technical Interior Space Planner BIM Coordinator to join our growing team. This isn’t just a production role. It’s a chance to be part of a high‑energy, innovation‑driven design studio where your ideas, technical skills, and curiosity actually matter.

You’ll support project delivery across a mix of design, coordination, and digital compliance tasks. You’ll work closely with senior designers, project leads, and supply chain partners – gaining experience in how complex spaces come together.

You should be confident working in Revit, interested in COBie and digital standards, and naturally detail‑focused. If you enjoy problem solving and want to grow your technical and client‑facing skills, this is a great place to start.

We’re after someone warm, organised, collaborative, and hungry to learn, ready to help us shape spaces that make a difference.

* Produce detailed 2D layouts, elevations, 3D visuals, and coordinated furniture schedules
* Support model coordination with architectural, MEP, and structural teams
* Ensure compliance with DfE design guidance and school‑specific briefs
* Assist with clash detection, model updates, and drawing revisions as design evolves
* Create and manage Revit families for educational furniture and equipment
* Follow established BIM protocols and contribute to the ongoing development of internal FF&E and Catering BIM standards
* Prepare and manage COBie‑compliant FF&E and catering data sets for use in BIM workflows and asset management
* Support tender and procurement packages with accurate data and drawings
* Participate in design meetings, site visits, and internal reviews as required
* Lead the development and infill of COBie and information management in alignment with BIM level 2 (BS EN ISO 19650‑2) standards

Skills & Experience

* Proficient in Autodesk Revit, producing FF&E layouts and schedules
* Strong understanding of BIM workflows and model coordination
* Independent production of detailed technical drawings without supervision
* Interpret briefs, room data sheets, and technical requirements with accuracy
* Experience running design projects from RIBA stages 3 (concept) to 5 (manufacture / construction)
* BIM accreditation and ability to produce technical drawings, elevations, and 3D visualisations; interest in AI‑enabled design tools
* Detail‑oriented, accurate data entry, methodical documentation approach
* Effective communication and collaboration within multidisciplinary teams
* Comfortable managing multiple projects with varying timelines
* Experience creating and managing Revit families
* Working knowledge of Autodesk Navisworks, Solibri, AutoCAD, or Adobe Creative Suite
* Ability to manage design documentation, including BIM models, drawings, presentations, and written reports for client meetings
