Overview

This role is to support a young male living with his parents in their family home, in Shipston-On-Stour. Current care is provided by his parents, and he has home school education 3 times each week. Personal assistants are required to allow some family respite time. Posts include Sunday, Monday and Tuesday 4.30pm - 11.30pm with alternate weekend cover of 3hrs for 2 PAs to provide 2:1 care. Set days will be allocated but the team will also need to offer some flexibility with their hours to support changes, including cover for annual leave, sickness and alternate flexible weekend cover on a pro rota basis.


Responsibilities

* Provide personal assistance and care to the client during scheduled shifts to support family respite time.
* Work with two PAs to deliver 2:1 care when required, including weekend cover on a rotational basis.
* Be flexible with hours to accommodate changes, annual leave and sickness cover, and pro rota weekend cover.
* Maintain a respectful and safe home environment and adhere to the client’s routines and needs.


Qualifications and Attributes

* The ideal candidate will live locally to the family, be flexible and enjoy the company of animals (family has cats and dogs).
* Must have a genuine caring nature and a calming presence; be enthusiastic, patient and inspiring to engage the client’s life.
* Need to demonstrate a high level of professionalism and integrity and respect for the family and their home; a good sense of humor is helpful.
* Candidates can be male or female; previous experience of supporting clients with Poikilothermia, Oxygen therapy, Oral suctioning, enteral feeding, catheter care, epilepsy or diabetes is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.

The hourly rate of pay is £13.00 per hour and all training is paid for, including the hours to complete the necessary training. An in-depth training package will be delivered to the team to support you to understand how to care for the client and to meet their needs.
