The role
As a Lead Planner, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll play a pivotal role on the Sizewell C programme, one of the UK’s largest and most important nuclear infrastructure projects. This is a high‑impact position where your leadership and insight will shape how a complex, multi‑discipline project is planned, coordinated and delivered.
Day-to-day you’ll be required to:
1. Owning and maintaining the integrated project schedule, ensuring alignment across all disciplines and workstreams
2. Leading critical path analysis, schedule risk assessments, scenario planning and mitigation strategies
3. Coordinating and mentoring planning engineers, promoting consistent standards, tools and reporting
4. Producing and presenting high‑quality planning reports and forecasts to senior stakeholders
5. Facilitating planning workshops and collaborative sessions with project teams, partners and suppliers
This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements.
Essential experience of the Lead Planner
6. Proven experience planning large, complex projects or programmes
7. Experience working in highly regulated environments such as nuclear, energy, defence, infrastructure or rail
8. Strong, hands‑on expertise using Primavera P6
9. Experience leading, coordinating or mentoring planning teams
10. A proactive, solutions‑focused approach to multi‑discipline programme delivery
Qualifications for the Lead Planner
11. Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline (desirable)
12. Recognised project management qualification such as APM, or equivalent demonstrable experience
