Salary: £27,500 - £30,000 (pro rata for part time staff members) depending on experience, funded by Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme

Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the implementation of digital processes and technologies, ensuring our practice remains at the forefront of NHS digital transformation.
* Work closely with patients and staff to enhance access to care, leveraging AI, smart software, and the NHS App to streamline booking and communication.
* Offer dedicated support and training to individuals who are less digitally engaged or at risk of digital exclusion, ensuring no one is left behind.
* Introduce and support innovations such as robotic process automation to reduce administrative tasks for clinicians, freeing up more time for direct patient care.
* Shaping a more accessible and efficient healthcare environment; contribute to reducing clinicians’ administrative workload and enable more time with patients by advancing digital tools.

Job summary:
The practice is currently facilitating the transition from analogue to digital processes, in accordance with the NHS 10-year plan. The primary responsibilities include enhancing patient access to care and support through the utilisation of artificial intelligence, software algorithms and the NHS App, with emphasis on supporting individuals who are digitally excluded or less likely to engage with the practice. The post holder will contribute to reducing clinicians’ administrative workloads and enable more time for direct patient care by advancing innovations such as robotic process automation for clinical and administrative processes.
Main duties and responsibilities:
* Coordinate and support housebound and care home patients’ monitoring and annual reviews, working closely with the multidisciplinary team and other primary care professionals.
* Help and support patients in using digital pathways for managing their annual and monitoring reviews, booking appointments through online systems, and accessing necessary resources to enable effective self-service and care management.
* Assist patients in managing their healthcare needs by answering digital queries, making and managing appointments, and ensuring information is understandable to help them make choices about their care and wellbeing using the NHS digital agenda.
* Distribute educational materials and resources to patients via the website, social media, and in-person interactions to enhance understanding of digital healthcare pathways, including NHS App resources and other services.
* Manage Welby Innovate recall, prescribing, and pathology software reports to ensure timely access to services and support.
* Acquire skills to interpret and critically assess clinical reports within SystmOne.
* Update and oversee software providers’ programme planners while maintaining accurate records.
* Cross-check data in electronic patient records with clinical correspondence to maintain accuracy and proper documentation.
* Liaise with patients and carers to obtain new unrecorded data, particularly those who are digitally excluded.
* Uphold coding protocol and recommend modifications and updates as necessary.
* Provide digital AI/software support to staff and clinicians, escalating issues to software vendors when necessary; act as the main contact for digital software providers Welby Innovate and Kynoby (for example).
* Maintain and manage the AI/software solutions risk register and escalate concerns or issues as required.
* Coordinate with operations management and the patient services manager on daily capacity before sending appointment booking links to patients to maximise online uptake.
* Collaborate with management to advance the practice’s digital agenda, especially uptake of the NHS App and online access.
* Perform additional duties as assigned by GPs or the Business/Practice Manager to ensure the practice runs smoothly.

* GCSE grade C / 4 or above in English and Maths

* A qualification in a relevant field such as business administration, digital technology or medical coding
