Join Our Team as a Team Leader – Children's Home
Are you committed to supporting children and young people to reach their full potential? We're seeking a compassionate and motivated Team Leader to join our dedicated staff at Sherlock Healthcare Services Ltd in Birmingham.
This is more than a role it's an opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people with complex needs, including EBD, ADHD and ASD. As a Team Leader, you'll play a vital part in creating a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic home environment where every young person feels valued and supported.
What You'll Do:
* Lead and supervise Residential Support Workers, ensuring the highest standards of care and professionalism.
* Support the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager in the daily operation of the home.
* Develop, implement, and monitor individualised Care Plans and Risk Assessments that promote positive outcomes.
* Promote each child's emotional, physical, and educational development through active engagement and tailored activities.
* Ensure compliance with all statutory regulations, company policies, and Ofsted standards.
* Act as a role model, mentor, and advocate for young people, promoting respect, safety, and wellbeing.
* Maintain high-quality records, contribute to reviews, and liaise effectively with families, social workers, schools, and external agencies.
What We're Looking For:
* Experience: Proven background in residential childcare, including leading shifts and supervising staff.
* Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 in Children & Young People's Workforce (or above) – Level 5 in Leadership & Management desirable.
* Skills: Excellent communication, empathy, and organisational skills, with the ability to handle challenging situations calmly and professionally.
* Commitment: A genuine passion for empowering young people and promoting a positive, inclusive environment.
* Flexibility: Willingness to work shifts, including weekends, sleep-ins and holidays away from the home.
* Licence: Full, clean UK driving licence.
