Based at Tamworth Hospital, you will contribute to comprehensive inpatient and outpatient general medicine services, including participation in the after-hours General Medicine on-call roster (1:8). You will also have the opportunity to establish and provide privately referred outpatient services from your own consulting rooms in Tamworth. Tamworth Hospital services a catchment population of approximately 205,000 people and is one of the largest and most advanced rural referral hospitals in Australia. You will join a collegial and collaborative physician group comprising 16 specialists across a broad range of disciplines, including cardiology, nephrology, rheumatology, medical and radiation oncology, haematology, neurology, gastroenterology, rehabilitation medicine, and endocrinology. Mandatory requirements of this role include: Admitting, consultative, diagnostic, procedural, outpatient, telehealth and on-call services as determined and required by HNELHD Attendance and availability during rostered work hours and whilst on-call including clinical handover, clinical supervision, teaching and for emergency and routine care as determined and required by HNELHD Provision of education and research as determined and required by HNELHD A primary medical degree registrable with AHPRA and Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Physicians, and/or overseas trained specialist pathways. Evidence of being a medical expert, demonstrated by recent and comprehensive experience in General Medicine Evidence of being a scholar, maintains medical professional development and has the ability to assist other staff, including trainees in the acquisition and development of knowledge.
