The Governing Body wish to appoint an enthusiastic, inspirational and passionate headteacher who will work in partnership with a dedicated and caring staff, a supportive governing body and happy, motivated and receptive children. This is an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate.

We strongly believe that the links we establish with the parents and carers of pupils at Tywyn Primary School are a key ingredient to the happiness and success of our pupils and it is this philosophy we are committed to. The school aims to give all pupils the best opportunity to demonstrate their potential within a caring environment. Tywyn Primary School has a broad curriculum to match the demands and needs of all its pupils whilst providing strong pastoral support to maximise each pupil’s potential.

The successful applicant will be able to:

-Demonstrate a clear vision in maintaining and developing our school in partnership with the staff, governors, parents and the local authority

- Promote the development of dynamic teamwork and collective responsibility across the whole school

- Lead, manage and motivate staff and pupils

- Demonstrate a sound knowledge of Child Protection and Safeguarding practices and policies

- Have a detailed working knowledge of Curriculum for Wales

- Raise standards of attainment and achievement for all pupils

- Understand the importance of the school at the heart of its community

- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of Additional Learning Needs including moderate learning difficulties, severe learning difficulties and profound and multiple learning disabilities in order to support pupils within the learning support centre (48 planned places) who are an integral part of the school

- Ensure the efficient and effective management of the budget and all resources within the school

- Demonstrate a proven track record in school leadership, management and school improvement

Applicants are required to be a serving headteacher or have NPQH before being shortlisted.

This post is subject to an Enhanced Check (child’s list) from the Disclosure & Barring Service.

The closing date for completed applications is Monday 30th June 2025 at 12:00pm

Please note that shortlisting for this post will take place on Friday July 4th 2025 and interviews for this post will take place on Friday July 11th 2025.

Shortlisted candidates are welcome to visit the school on Thursday July 10th 2025 at 4:00pm for an informal tour of the school.

Welsh language is not a requirement of the post.
