Position: Design Engineer (Mechanical)Location: Stockton-on-TeesSalary: Circa £45k dependant on experienceMechanical Design Engineer required for a well-established engineering company based in Stockton-on-Tees. Our client designs and manufactures specialist equipment and engineering solutions for a range of industries and is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join their growing team.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the design and development of innovative mechanical systems and components, supporting projects from concept through to manufacture.
Mechanical Design Engineer Position Overview
* Designing and developing mechanical components, assemblies, and systems using SolidWorks and CAD software
* Producing detailed engineering drawings, schematics, and manufacturing documentation
* Carrying out design calculations and structural analysis to support engineering solutions
* Performing root cause analysis and troubleshooting of design and product issues
* Collaborating with manufacturing, project, and engineering teams to ensure designs meet technical and commercial requirements
* Supporting product development activities from concept through to production
* Assisting with continuous improvement initiatives across products and processes
* Ensuring all designs comply with relevant engineering standards and company procedures
Mechanical Design Engineer Position Requirements
* Previous experience in a Mechanical Design Engineer position
* Degree or HNC in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
* Proficient in SolidWorks and CAD software
* Experience producing engineering drawings and technical schematics
* Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and system design
* Ability to undertake engineering calculations and structural assessments
* Experience carrying out root cause analysis and fault-finding activities
* Working knowledge of SolidWorks Simulation (FEA) would be advantageous, although training can be provided
* Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Mechanical Design Engineer Position Remuneration
* Salary: Circa £45,000, dependent upon experience and qualifications
* Performance-related bonus structure
* Monday to Thursday: 8:00am - 4:30pm
* Friday: 8:00am - 3:30pm
* 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
