Introduction We are looking for a Buried Network Design Engineer to join the design team of a low carbon district heating and cooling network client. The team has the capability to design energy centres, pre-insulated buried piping networks, heat pumps and plant room heat exchanger assemblies. As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will have autonomy and ownership of projects to develop district networks, including multi-disciplinary design coordination with both internal and external stakeholders. The role includes the technical oversight and management responsibility for a small number of Mechanical and Heat Network Design engineers. The Role The design of district network schemes and energy centres, including buried piping systems, energy centres, boilers, CHP units, thermal stores, plate heat exchanger assemblies, pumps, chillers, heat pumps and auxiliary systems. Technical oversight of the work of design engineers. Management responsibility for a small number of design engineers. The use of CAD packages in the creation of engineering drawings. The production of tender scopes, specifications, bills of materials and engineering calculations. Technical support and design coordination with internal and external stakeholders, including business development and project managers, contractors, clients and design consultants.
