We are looking for a Senior Sous Chef to support our Head Chef in running a high-standard, efficient kitchen. Based in Orford, our pub experiences busy summers and peak trade on holidays, with quieter winters requiring occasional lone working. Responsibilities:
* Prepare, cook, and present high-quality food to company standards
* Maintain portion control and minimise waste
* Oversee stock management and supplier orders
* Ensure compliance with food safety and health regulations
* Provide excellent service and maintain high food presentation standards
* Lead and develop the kitchen team, supporting recruitment and training
* Assist in managing food costs, stock takes, and revenue improvement
* Maintain and monitor kitchen equipment, reporting maintenance needs
Ideal Candidate:
* Experienced Senior Sous Chef or Sous Chef in a high-volume setting
* Strong leadership skills with a passion for training and developing staff
* Excellent knowledge of food safety and health regulations
* Ability to work efficiently during peak seasons and independently in quieter periods
* Creative and detail-oriented with a proactive approach to menu planning
