We are looking to strengthen our Delivery team with a Project Manager based at Derby with hybrid working available.
You will report directly to the Operations Manager, and your role will be to manage the design, construction, commissioning, and operational handover of contracts. The goal is to ensure projects are completed efficiently, to specifications, within the required timeframe, and within tender estimates, all while maintaining health and safety standards and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Promoting exceptional safety and delivery quality standards to the workforce.
* Ensuring the implementation of the BMS throughout all project stages, from tender handover to final completion.
* Maintaining good client relationships at all levels.
* Upholding the company's reputation by fostering positive relationships with joint venture partners and suppliers.
* Ensuring availability of trained personnel aware of their responsibilities.
* Planning projects, reviewing and approving the Project Execution Plan (PEP), and monitoring delivery.
* Preparing and approving detailed construction plans and method statements prior to activities.
* Completing and making available all records referred to in the PEP at project completion.
* Reporting site non-conformities and estimating associated costs.
* Managing all commercial aspects proactively, providing accurate forecasts and estimates.
* Possessing detailed knowledge of project management practices from inception to end-user acceptance.
* Participating in external networking and professional development activities.
* Undertaking additional duties as reasonably required, maintaining a professional image and positive relationships.
* Implementing quality, safety, and environmental policies and targets.
* Satisfying customer requirements to enhance perception and satisfaction.
* Maintaining technical knowledge related to water and wastewater projects.
Essential qualifications and experience include:
* Project management experience in multi-disciplinary design and construction projects, ideally in the water industry.
* A degree or equivalent in construction, commercial, or engineering disciplines.
* Project Management Qualification (PMQ) or equivalent.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work closely with clients and stakeholders.
* Delivery-driven with skills to set targets and motivate teams.
* Experience in project delivery, strategic, operational, technical, and management skills.
* Knowledge of Construction Contracts, preferably NEC and/or IChemE, with negotiation skills.
* Ability to present at governance reviews.
* Risk and opportunity management experience.
* Understanding of CDM and health & safety regulations.
Desirable qualifications include experience in water and wastewater treatment plants, chartered status with relevant institutions, NEC Project Manager Accreditation, and advanced technical competencies in contract management, governance, budgeting, risk management, project planning, digital delivery, procurement, solutions development, stakeholder management, resource management, change management, and quality management. Behavioral competencies include strong communication, collaboration, client focus, results orientation, integrity, leadership, and coaching skills.
