Clinical Fellow / Clinical Development Fellow
Location: Lorn & Islands Hospital, Oban.
Duration: 6 or 12 months, commencing 5 August 2026 (February 2027 start available).
Hours: 40 hours per week + banding (if applicable).
Salary: £45,504 – £60,199 per annum pro rata (plus 40% pay banding supplement for out‑of‑hours).
Responsibilities
* Provide patient care in general medicine and surgery across the hospital.
* Manage both medical and surgical patients, with significant time in the emergency department under senior supervision.
* Work within multidisciplinary teams including consultant physicians, surgeons, anaesthetists, radiologists and rural emergency practitioners.
* Complete 4 hours of protected development time per week on teaching, quality improvement, theatre, anaesthesia, outpatients or radiology projects.
* Participate in teaching Dundee University medical students and/or coordinating their programme.
Qualifications
* UK Foundation Year 2 training completed by 4 August 2026.
* Full GMC registration with current licence to practice.
* Desirable: experience in medical and surgical practice, familiarity with rural medicine.
* Motivation to develop skills for CT1, IMT1 posts or MRCP/MRCS study.
