We currently have a permanent post to join our team on a Monday to Friday as required. Hours will be discussed at interview as some flexibility may be required. Kirkcaldy: Janitor - 36 hours per week, based at Kirkcaldy High School. Hours will be between 7:00am to 8:00pm as required. You will earn a competitive salary of £28,175.91 to £30,691.29 per year and have access to a range of benefits, including: Extra payments for any shift work, including weekends. Travel expenses will be paid – we pay 45 pence per mile for staff using their own car. Pay is every 4 weeks. You will be required to work on your own or as part to of a Team covering the following: Supervising Assistant Janitors, Work Choice Assistant Janitors, work placement staff and other employees, including carrying out induction and training of new staff, attendance management, completing timesheets, annual leave authorisation and participating in recruitment and selection etc. Liaising as required with outside contractors either directly or through property services staff, ensuring (with heads) that contractors have the necessary Public Liability Insurance and they comply with relevant aspects of Health and Safety Legislation. Carrying out prescribed procedures in the event of fire, flooding, accident or damage including liaising with appropriate staff, contractors etc. Responding to problems and resolving issues. A willingness to complete additional training as required. The Person Ability to provide a regular and effective service, working alone or as part of a team. You will be required to attend an induction training day before starting in post. Before confirming to your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
