Overview
This is a career-defining opportunity within the School of Nursing, Allied & Public Health at Kingston University. The position involves teaching, supporting students and contributing to research‑led initiatives in learning disability nursing.
Key Responsibilities
You will provide teaching related to learning disability in integrated care contexts including acute, public health, primary health care and community and social care environments. Modules will focus on contemporary, evidence‑based approaches aligned with the NHS Ten‑Year Plan. You will deliver real‑world education, support student tutorials, and facilitate learning in practice settings.
You will share knowledge and expertise through professional consultancy, pursue income‑generating opportunities, and support student placements. You will maintain an enhanced DBS clearance and recognise the importance of integration and high‑quality evidence‑based practice.
Qualifications
Professional registration with an appropriate nursing body and clinical experience in learning disability nursing are essential. You should hold at least a first degree; an MSc or above is desirable. A recognised teaching or learning qualification is desirable. Applicants must demonstrate compliance with Kingston University standards for learning, teaching and research, and achieve UKPSF recognition within the probation period. Suitable INT to Learning and Teaching induction or Academic Practice Standards Framework will be required.
You should be able to work autonomously, be motivated to deliver high‑quality teaching, and be willing to build networks in the private and public sectors.
Additional Requirements
Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK, including required entry clearance or leave under points‑based immigration scheme. This role requires a permanent, part‑time position (22.2 hours per week). Salary is £27,015 for a Lecturer and £30,096 for a Senior Lecturer (60% pro‑rata) or £45,025–£59,306 annually based on skill and experience.
