We are excited to offer a permanent Electrician in HMP Full Sutton. This role is based on-site and not accessible by public transport, with free parking available. There is a requirement to work 1 in 3 weekends on a rota basis, with an additional allowance of 15% of basic salary. The standard hours are 39 hours per week across 7 days with a weekend shift pattern.

What You Will Do
* Planned and preventative electrical maintenance.
* Responding to breakdowns, ensuring all works are carried out under the Safe System of Work and in a timely manner.
* Active fault finding / problem solving on domestic electrical systems across the prison.
* Undertaking electrical installation activities in accordance with the design provided and IET Wiring Regulations.
* Testing and inspecting electrical installations in accordance with the current IEE wiring regulations.
* Monitoring and ordering critical spares for all electrical services.
* Other tasks as required by the Site.
* Support local and business zero carbon programmes, working towards zero carbon in a strategic and lean manner where appropriate.
* Responsible for ensuring H&S standards are achieved across the contract.
What You Will Bring
* Ability to work alone and use initiative.
* Knowledge and experience of Electrical Systems and Electricity at Work Regulations.
* Capable of working at heights.
* Appropriate technical qualification (e.g., City & Guilds 2365 parts 1-3, BTEC, NVQ level 3 or above).
* BS7671 IET Wiring Regulations, specifically 18th Edition (sponsorship to upgrade from 17th Edition available; terms and conditions apply).
* Experience of electrical maintenance activities, general distribution and installation and testing within a commercial environment.
* Experience in fire alarm systems and CCTV systems.
* IT skills.
