Residential Support Worker – Kyloe House Secure Children's Home

Location: Kyloe House, Stannington, Morpeth, NE61 6DE

Salary & Benefits

* Basic Salary: £26,403 – £28,142 (Band 4)
* Market Force Allowance: £5,000 p/a
* Enhancements (Out-of-Hours): £2,708.04 – £2,886.48 p/a
* Sleep-in Shift Payment: £43.12 per shift

Enhancements apply between 8:00pm – 6:00am and weekends. Sleep-in payments are additional to the basic salary.

Please note: There are both permanent and 12-month fixed-term positions available.

The Role – Residential Support Worker

As a Residential Support Worker, you will:

* Provide consistent, compassionate care in a secure setting.
* Ensure the safety and wellbeing of young people at all times.
* Build positive, trusting relationships that encourage growth and resilience.
* Support young people with daily routines, learning and independent living skills.
* Work collaboratively colleagues, education, physical and mental health teams, and external professionals to support creating personalised care plans.
* Maintain clear and accurate records, always upholding safeguarding standards.

Useful Information

* Working Hours:

Average of 37 hours per week, following a designated shift pattern:

* Early and late shifts between 7:45am – 10:30pm
* Sleep-in shifts
* Alternate weekends and some bank holidays
* Disclosure Requirement:

The successful applicant will be required to complete a Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) Enhanced Disclosure.

About you

Do you have the passion, resilience, and commitment to make a positive difference in young people's lives? We are looking for Residential Support Workers to join our trauma-informed secure children's home, where safety, stability, and care are our highest priorities.

Eligibility Criteria

* Applicants must be 22 years or older (Ofsted guidance).
* This role does not meet UK Visa Sponsorship criteria.
* Interviews for this post will be held on 15th October 2025, please ensure that you are available to attend on this date when submitting an application.

We are looking for individuals who are:

* Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the young people.
* Able to remain calm, professional and nurturing in challenging situations.
* Resilient, reliable and team focused.
* Passionate about supporting young people and help build brighter futures.
* Experience in residential care, youth work or education is desirable, but full training is provided, and ongoing development opportunities will be available.
* Willing and able to undertake training up to Level 3/4 Diploma in Children and Young People's Workforce (or equivalent).
