Shooting Star Children’s Hospices is a leading children’s hospice charity caring for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions, and their families, across west London and Surrey. In fact, the Care Quality Commission have rated our hospice in Guildford Outstanding.
Responsibilities:
Due to the expansion of the in-hospice services we have an exciting opportunity has arisen for a paediatric nurse to join our hospice community team. Joining a team of experienced nurses, delivering care to children and young people with Complex and palliative care needs at home, in hospital or at our CQC Outstanding rated Guildford based hospice, Christopher’s.
Shooting Star Children’s Hospices is a leading children’s hospice charity caring for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions, and their families. We support families across Surrey and London from diagnosis to end of life and throughout bereavement with a range of nursing, practical, emotional and medical care.
Within this role you will:
• have the opportunity to work alongside other professionals delivering care within the community
• help shape and build the community service
• be part of a team aiming to provide a 24/7 service
• be supported to work as an autonomous practitioner within a supportive team
• The successful applicant will be enthusiastic, self-motivated and have at least 2 years’ experience of children’s nursing.

• Practice Education Team
• Specialist Palliative Care Team
• In house Care Team
• Family Support Team

The post will be based at Christopher’s near Guildford but the successful candidate will also need to travel to hospitals covered by Shooting Star Children's Hospices as well as home visits throughout Surrey and West London, therefore being a car owner and driver is essential.
