Location: Rotherham (S66)
Hours: Monday to Thursday 10:00am -18:00pm, Friday 10:30am-18:00. 37hr per week
Pay: £23.00 - £25.00ph paid weekly via umbrella
Duration: Ongoing Contract Long term/Temp to Perm
Duties
The post holder will provide a high quality, efficient maintenance, inspection, repair and test service for both the Councils internal fleet and external customers, which includes a diverse range of HGVs, light vehicles and road going plant.
The post holder will prepare, present and accompany HGV vehicles for annual MOT inspections as well as carrying out periodic safety inspections on all HGV vehicles to DVSA inspection manual standards.
The post holder will carry out fault diagnosis on complex hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems, including welding, fabrication and body repairs as required.
The post holder will attend broken down or accident damaged vehicles and fix permanent or carryout or running repairs as required, including preparing and decommissioning vehicles.
Experience of working with all aspects of HGV and light commercial inspection, maintenance and repair.
Experience of working on municipal vehicles is desirable.
Knowledge of workshop health and safety policies, practices and procedures.
Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics and 12/24v electric systems.
Person Specification
City & Guilds, IMI Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair, Motor Vehicle Engineering, or equivalent.
A Full UK Driving Licence is required with Category C or willing to obtained in first year of employment
