Job Description:
We're looking for an experienced plush toy developer with strong knowledge of manufacturing, fabric selection, and sewing construction to help turn our product ideas into production-ready patterns and detailed spec sheets.
You will work closely with our team to translate concept sketches and reference images into clear, factory-ready documentation that ensures accurate sampling and scalable manufacturing.
Responsibilities:
Convert product concepts into professional sewing patterns for plush toys
Create detailed tech packs / spec sheets for manufacturers
Recommend appropriate fabrics, trims, fillings, and construction techniques
Ensure designs are optimized for efficient manufacturing and cost control
Provide clear measurements, seam allowances, stitch types, labeling details, and assembly instructions
Revise patterns and specs based on prototype feedback
Requirements:
Proven experience developing plush toys or soft goods for manufacturing
Strong understanding of fabric types, sewing construction, and production methods
Experience creating professional spec sheets / tech packs for overseas factories
Ability to think through manufacturability and cost implications
Fluent English (written and verbal) — clear communication is essential
Ability to work from sketches, inspiration images, and rough concepts
Nice to Have:
Experience working directly with overseas manufacturers
Background in industrial design, soft goods development, or toy manufacturing
Knowledge of safety standards for plush/toy products
