Job description

Hourly Rate: £13.69 - £18.53

The advertised hourly rate includes a supplement (JWC) to the base grade of the post. JWC supplements are conditional on the physical demands and /or working conditions of the role.

A market supplement is currently being applied to all night and weekend (Saturday and Sunday) shifts, uplifting your hourly rate in these periods to between £18.25 - £18.53. This will replace any previous market supplements and will apply to both your contracted hours and to any additional hours worked within the applicable time periods.

Available Hours: We have opportunities available between 35 and 36.5 hours per week

Intermediate Care is a 365 day a year, 7 day a week service. Typically, our day shifts run between the hours of 8:00am - 10:00pm and the night shifts are 9:45pm - 8:15am, they are worked over a fixed fortnightly working pattern. This will include weekend and Bank Holiday rotas

Location: Maudes Meadow, Kendal

Contract Type: Fixed Term - 6 months from start date

We have opportunities for caring and compassionate people to join Care Services Westmorland and Furness, based at Maudes Meadow, as part of a new team of Intermediate Care Support Workers.


About the role

As an Intermediate Care Support Worker you will work with people who have been identified as having intermediate care needs, providing support in an empowering way, to promote recovery and maximise their independence.

This is an incredibly rewarding opportunity, giving you the chance to work with people on achieving identified goals and outcomes, supporting them to retain as much independence as possible and remain living within their local community.

The main duties of the role will include:

* Supporting individuals with personal care, ensuring individuals are treated with dignity and respect.
* Supporting with, and administering medication as required.
* Working with individuals on their own personal outcomes, as agreed within a person centred, strength-based plan.
* Working closely with colleagues across the Service, including Therapists and Social Workers.
