This role involves teaching a small KS2/3 class of pupils with ASD and associated challenging behaviour. The school prides itself on providing a supportive, nurturing environment where every child is encouraged to achieve their potential.
SEN Teacher Role:
1. Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to meet the needs of students with ASD.
2. Create a safe, structured, and stimulating classroom environment.
3. Use positive behaviour management strategies to support students effectively.
4. Work closely with a strong team of SEN support staff, therapists, and parents.
5. Track progress and contribute to individual learning plans (EHCPs).
The Ideal SEN Teacher:
6. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) with experience in SEN teaching.
7. Strong knowledge of ASD and strategies for supporting students with complex needs.
8. Skilled in managing challenging behaviour with a calm, proactive approach.
9. Flexible, creative, and able to adapt quickly to meet student needs.
10. Committed to promoting inclusion and high expectations for all learners.
