You’ll be keeping learning on track, maintaining routines, and making sure classrooms run smoothly, no marking marathons required. What you’ll be doing Supervising classes across KS3 and KS4 using pre-set lesson plans Managing classroom behaviour and keeping pupils focused and engaged Supporting students with their work and answering questions where appropriate Following school policies and safeguarding procedures Being a calm, confident presence in the classroom, even on those lively days You won’t be expected to plan lessons or assess work, your focus is classroom flow, consistency, and confidence. What schools are looking for Experience working with young people, this could be in schools, youth work, sports coaching, tutoring, or similar Confident communication and a natural authority in the room A flexible, positive attitude and the ability to think on your feet GCSEs in English and Maths (or equivalent) A genuine interest in education and supporting students Previous school experience is helpful but not essential.
