Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Behaviour Mentor Lead to support and guide children in their educational and personal development. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in education and have experience working with children, particularly in special education settings. This role requires excellent communication skills, a nurturing approach, and the ability to implement effective behaviour management strategies.
Responsibilities
* Provide one-on-one mentoring to children, assisting them with academic subjects such as maths and literacy.
* Lead and support a group of behaviour mentors.
* Implement tailored learning plans that cater to the individual needs of each child.
* Utilise techniques from speech therapy and applied behaviour analysis to enhance communication and learning outcomes.
* Foster a positive learning environment that encourages curiosity and engagement in physical education activities.
* Support children with special educational needs through effective tutoring and behaviour management strategies.
* Maintain clear communication with parents and educators regarding the child's progress and any areas for improvement.
* Conduct regular assessments to monitor development and adapt teaching methods accordingly.
* Engage in proofreading educational materials to ensure clarity and accuracy.
* Deliver strategies and training to support staff.
Experience
* Proven experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting is essential.
* Background in education or special education is highly desirable.
* Familiarity with mentoring or tutoring practices, particularly in subjects like maths and literacy.
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are crucial for effective interaction with children, parents, and colleagues.
* Experience in behaviour management techniques is beneficial, as well as knowledge of speech therapy practices.
