Overview
Senior ICT Technician (Shaw Education Trust) – Derby area. Under the guidance of the Regional Head of Digital Services, you will provide excellent IT support and customer service to our schools across a cluster in Derby. You will be based at a school site with travel across the cluster; a full driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential. Attendance at meetings and training sessions at the Trust’s head office in Kidsgrove, Stoke, will also be required.
Responsibilities
* Provide onsite IT support at schools when needed to cover absence or support project work.
* Utilise the IT Helpdesk to assist end users, prioritise and manage workload, and record activity.
* Update or create documentation for existing systems as changes are made.
* Perform daily tasks such as checking security logs, reviewing quarantined emails, checking backup logs, and taking action as required.
* Work with senior team members to support infrastructure elements (physical and virtual servers, networking devices) to ensure network, data, and applications are available and secure.
* Contribute to investigation, design, development, and implementation of new IT systems under guidance from senior team members.
* Support the Trust's Office 365 tools (SharePoint, OneDrive, Microsoft Teams for Education) and participate in ongoing development and support.
* Mentor and support other IT Technicians.
Requirements / Qualifications
* Experience as an ICT Technician and ability to work across multiple school sites within a cluster.
* A full driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential).
* Willingness to travel across Derby schools and attend Trust-wide meetings and training.
