Civil Structural Engineer (Reinforced Concrete / Temporary Works)
Location: Bristol - Hybrid Working
Salary/Rate: Up to £40 Per Hour Inside IR35
Start Date: May / June (candidates must be UK-based)
We are looking for a Civil Structural Engineer to join a growing team supporting the delivery of Hinkley Point C-one of the largest and most complex infrastructure projects in the world. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on nuclear-grade reinforced concrete structures, gaining exposure to advanced construction methods including 3D BIM rebar modelling (TEKLA), within a highly regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
You will play a key role in supporting site-based design and construction activities, including:
·Modifying reinforced concrete and steel designs in line with Eurocodes / ETC-C
·Coordinating detailing with CAD and BIM teams (2D & 3D modelling)
·Managing engineering changes in line with QA procedures
Responding to:
·Field Change Requests (FCRs)
·Field Information Requests (FIRs)
·Non-Conformances (NCRs)
Liaising with:
·Site construction teams
·Internal multidisciplinary teams
·Reviewing and approving contractor deliverables
·Conducting site walkdowns and inspections
Requirements
Essential
·Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
·Up to ~5 years' experience in Civil / Structural / Infrastructure Engineering
·Experience with reinforced concrete design
·Strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills
·Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
Desirable
Experience in:
·Temporary Works or Method Engineering
·Highly regulated industries (e.g. nuclear, rail, heavy infrastructure)
Understanding of:
·Design-to-construction transition
·Working alongside contractors on site
·Exposure to BIM / TEKLA modelling
