Full Time
40 hours per week
8-6 shift patterns (days)
Every other weekend.
5.6 weeks hols
Responsibilities:
1. Prepare menus and agree them with the Service Users and manager, including preferences, special diets, and foods as needed.
2. Prepare and serve all meals in a timely manner.
3. Make up duty rotas for catering staff, ensuring sufficient skilled staff on duty.
4. Order supplies for the catering operation, maintaining cost control.
5. Operate and maintain an efficient stock control system.
6. Ensure equipment is used carefully and is in good working order; report faults immediately.
7. Promote and safeguard the welfare of those supported.
8. Assist in staff recruitment, induction, and training.
9. Lead, motivate, and supervise catering staff.
10. Conduct annual staff appraisals and personal development plans.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Previous experience in a similar environment.
* Proficient written skills for accurate record-keeping.
* Knowledge of textured, modified diets.
* Experience in a supervisory role.
* Experience working with Service Users with additional support needs.
* Budget management experience.
Additional Skills:
* Ensure catering ingredients and equipment are purchased within budget.
* Manage waste effectively.
* Excellent communication skills, including seeking feedback and attending meetings.
Preferred:
Experience in a care home setting and understanding of the IDDSI Framework.
