Applications are invited for the post of Standard Police Driving Instructor based at Headquarters, Penrith on a full time basis.
The role will be to deliver high quality driver training to standard level and other associated specialist training when required. Demonstration, assessment and associated specialised skills to police officers and police staff personnel, thus enabling staff to be equipped to respond to immediate response and day-to-day driving duties.
Applicants must be or have been, a qualified College of Police Standard level Driving Instructor, or Advanced Instructor and capable of passing the necessary quality assurance checks to regain/continue teaching at Standard/Advanced level. Candidates must have the appropriate skills to develop individuals and support student centred learning.
Each stage must be successfully completed in order to progress through the process.
The selection process for applicants shall be:
1. Multiple choice theory test on Roadcraft and The Highway Code - 85% Pass Mark.
2. Assessed Drive.
3. Instructional ability test.
4. Interview.
