Based in London, we are seeking a Market Intelligence professional to cover a parental leave. This will support the global business development team, firm leadership and other stakeholders with a myriad of research and marketing initiatives both on a project and on-going basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the various competitive intelligence tools, have an analytical approach and eye for detail while being a self-starter with the ability to work both independently and within a team structure.
Responsibilities include:
1. Completing research requests including background intelligence reports on clients, prospective clients and individuals; deal exports via Mergermarket/ Pitchbook/Refinitiv/Preqin; litigation analytics exports via Bloomberg Law/LexMachina; news searching via Law360/Law.com/Bloomberg Law/Google and other ad-hoc research related tasks.
2. Contributing to completion of specialized practice-specific reports including those related to lead generation and deal reporting.
3. Collaborating with Market Intelligence Specialist to update and maintain deal data into the firm’s experience database and contribute to League Table Reporting.
4. Pulling experience lists from Foundation.
Qualifications
5. Strong understanding of the various research platforms/services and the ability to assemble and concisely present information.
6. Excellent communication and organizational skills, both written and verbal, proactive with a high energy level, and poise and professionalism when interacting with internal and external contacts are essential.
7. Ability to prioritize workload, work independently, complete tasks under time pressure and work outside of regular business hours when necessary.
8. Flexibility and creativity to respond productively to individualized needs of attorneys, work well with teammates and react to difficult situations appropriately.
9. Interest in current events in the legal, financial and business world.
10. Basic understanding of corporate transactions or US litigation/disputes and how they work.
Experience
11. University degree
12. Strong computer skills including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and knowledge of InterAction is a plus.
