Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Technician to support the assembly and development of e-motors and inverters within a high-performance engineering environment. This role combines hands-on build responsibility with process development, continuous improvement, and mentoring of junior team members.
Key Responsibilities:
* Carry out mechanical and electrical assembly in line with build schedules, SOPs, and production systems
* Perform testing, measurement, and accurate recording of production data
* Support the development and optimisation of build processes and assembly instructions
* Assist Manufacturing Engineers with SOP creation and continuous improvement activities
* Investigate faults and support strip-down analysis of failed units
* Ensure tooling and equipment are maintained, calibrated, and fit for purpose
* Contribute to quality, safety, and audit processes (including 6S and safety observations)
* Mentor and train team members to enhance capability and performance
* Support KPI reporting and departmental performance tracking
Requirements:
* Relevant mechanical or electrical qualification
* Minimum 5 years experience in an engineering workshop (automotive, aerospace, or motorsport)
* Strong mechanical assembly experience to high standards
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
* Good IT skills (Microsoft Office) and strong numeracy/literacy
* Proven problem-solving ability and proactive approach to continuous improvement
Desirable:
* Experience with electrical testing, including high-voltage systems
* Understanding of electrical circuits
* Familiarity with 3D CAD viewing software
Working Hours:
Monday Thursday: 7:00am 4:00pm | Friday: 7:00am 12:00pm
