Contract Manager – Externals, SHDF & Retrofit WorksLocation: Wembley (Office-based with site travel)Salary: Up to £65k per year + BenefitsA fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Contract Manager to join a growing organisation delivering high-quality external refurbishment, SHDF schemes, and retrofit works within the social housing sector.We are looking for a motivated, technically strong, and commercially aware leader who can manage projects end-to-end, ensure full compliance, and drive excellent performance across multiple live schemes.The RoleAs a Contract Manager, you will oversee the successful delivery of externals, energy-efficiency measures, and SHDF/retrofit programmes, ensuring all works meet the required quality, sustainability, and safety standards.You will work closely with operational teams, retrofit specialists, supply chain partners, and client representatives to ensure KPIs are achieved, compliance standards are met, and projects are delivered efficiently and to programme.This is a hands-on role involving site visits, team leadership, client interface, and operational oversight.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the operational delivery of external refurbishment, SHDF and retrofit projectsEnsure works are completed to PAS 2030/2035 standards (where applicable)Manage performance across all KPIs including quality, safety, customer satisfaction and programmePrepare mobilisation plans, progress reports, H&S documentation, and audit compliance recordsEnsure materials, labour, and supply chain resources are effectively managedMaintain strong relationships with clients, residents, subcontractors and internal teamsEnforce all QEMS, environmental, and health & safety processesProduce and update detailed programmes of work and communicate changes to all stakeholdersProvide leadership and coaching to operational teams, ensuring high performanceConduct supply chain reviews and manage subcontractor performanceDrive continuous improvement across delivery, compliance, and customer experienceAbout YouExperience & Knowledge:Proven experience delivering externals, retrofit, EWI, roofing, cladding, or SHDF/energy efficiency projectsStrong understanding of social housing standards, compliance, and retrofit regulationsGood working knowledge of construction processes and contract managementProficient with MS Project and general IT systemsAttributes:Excellent communication and leadership skillsSolution-focused with strong commercial awarenessProfessional, proactive and organisedAbility to build strong relationships at all levelsQualifications:SMSTSIOSHNVQ Level 6 or equivalent (desirable)Retrofit-related training/certifications (advantage but not essential)
