Head of Health & Social Care and Science (on-site)
Recruiter: Suffolk New College. Location: Ipswich, Suffolk. Salary: £45,003 – £51,846 per year. Hours: 35 per week (including teaching). Contract: Permanent, full-time.
This role will lead on the operational and strategic aspects of the Health & Social Care & Science curriculum area, working closely with the Director to support, lead and develop staff in delivering an exceptional student experience.
Responsibilities
* Lead the operational and strategic aspects of the Health & Social Care & Science curriculum area.
* Proactively support, lead and develop staff, ensuring a high student experience.
* Build and develop sustainable relationships with employers and external agencies.
* Apply creative and innovative approaches to enhance student experience and outcomes.
* Deliver teaching hours as required, providing proven teaching expertise in the related subject area.
Qualifications
* Excellent people‑management and development skills.
* Expertise in the curriculum areas and experience working with young people aged 16+.
* Proven teaching expertise with a profile of grade 1 or 2 lesson observations.
* Relevant degree or professional qualification; maths and English at level 2 or equivalent.
* Teaching qualification at level 5.
* Willingness to work across multiple campuses within the college.
Based at Suffolk New College, Ipswich Campus, the post may require travel between campuses.
