Role Overview The Team Leader will supervise and coordinate daily primary processing operations, ensuring: · Production targets are met · High food safety and hygiene standards · Compliance with animal welfare regulations · A strong health & safety culture You will lead a team of operatives while working closely with technical, planning, and engineering teams. Key Responsibilities · Lead, supervise, and support primary processing operatives · Allocate tasks and ensure team members understand responsibilities · Monitor performance and provide coaching or guidance · Maintain discipline and ensure company policies are followed Production Management · Ensure daily production targets are achieved safely and efficiently · Monitor workflow and adjust staffing or processes to improve productivity · Coordinate with other departments such as lairage, packing, and quality control Health & Safety · Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures · Conduct safety checks and report hazards or incidents · Ensure correct use of PPE · Promote a safe working environment Food Safety & Hygiene · Maintain compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards · Monitor sanitation of equipment and work areas · Follow HACCP and company food safety procedures Training & Development · Train new employees in operational procedures, safety, and hygiene · Mentor team members to improve skills and performance · Support management in staff development and evaluations Reporting · Maintain accurate production records and reports · Report operational issues, equipment problems, or staffing concerns · Ensure compliance documentation is completed correctly Ideal Candidate · Has team leadership or supervisory experience in production/manufacturing · Understands food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards · Is organised, proactive, and a strong communicator · Can manage people effectively in a fast-paced environment
