The role
will predominantly comprise design and drawing work using Autodesk software, and will require close liaison with the PBC surveyors and other CAD team members.
Responsibilities
1. Support the surveyors and engineers in technical aspects of projects
2. Represent the project and building consultancy department internally and to clients
3. Monitor quality control of drawing production in Oxford
4. Support the London (and other offices) CAD requirements
5. Ensure engineering specifications and procedures are used and followed
6. Generate Revit models for projects that are managed using BIM
7. Liaise with surveyors and engineers to forecast workload and resources required
8. Participate in client design meetings where required
9. Be aware of all client design requirements
10. Using Autodesk software to create 2D/3D designs for complex projects
11. Be responsible for and take accurate site measurements from inception through to construction to ensure accuracy of information produced
12. Translate design concepts into CAD models
13. Ensure all work undertaken is produced accurately to standards in a timely and efficient manner
14. Keep up to date on industry and engineering standards
Requirements
Essential Qualifications
15. Relevant degree
16. Excellent CAD/BIM drafting skills using Autodesk software
17. Proven track record of undertaking CAD Projects
Essential experience
18. An understanding of construction processes
19. An understanding of building surveying practices
20. Technical understanding of architectural detailing
21. Technical understanding of RC detailing
22. Technical understanding of steel superstructures
23. Technical understanding of roads and drainage
24. Client facing experience to meet with clients to give updates on projects
25. Able to draw RC and steelwork
26. Able to demonstrate structural and civils experience
27. Able to do general architectural detailing
28. Capable of doing layout designs
29. Able to measure up existing buildings and draw plans and elevations
Desirable experience
30. CADs-RC software user
31. Revit skills
