Overview
Ciena’s Supply Chain Data Services team drives insights and informed decisions through data.
As a Supply Chain Data Services Analyst, you will develop and enhance operational, predictive, and forward-looking analytics tools that empower our global Supply Chain organization.
How You Will Contribute
Reporting to the Manager, Supply Chain Data Services Enablement, you will:
1. Support and enhance existing Business Intelligence (BI) and analytics solutions.
2. Analyze business requirements and design optimal BI and data solutions.
3. Develop new analytical tools that enable point-of-use insights across the Supply Chain.
4. Modernize and migrate legacy BI solutions to next-generation environments.
5. Integrate AI-driven capabilities into analytics solutions.
6. Collaborate with stakeholders across Product Line Management, Supply Management, Order Management, IT, and CRM to drive data-informed decisions.
7. Serve as a trusted expert on BI tools, ensuring their effective use and continuous improvement.
The Must Haves
8. Education: Bachelor’s degree (Honours preferred) in an IT-related discipline.
9. Experience: Proven background in Business Intelligence or Data Analytics, ideally within supply chain or operations.
10. Technical Skills:
Alteryx – Data model design, advanced workflows, and analytics (certification an advantage).
Power BI – Visualization, DAX, data modeling, innovative dashboard design, and Power BI CoPilot (certification an advantage).
SQL – Proficiency in ANSI SQL programming and query optimization.
ERP Systems – Experience with Oracle EBS, Salesforce, or similar platforms.
Understanding of Agile development methodologies.
11. Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and ability to translate data into meaningful insights.
12. Clear communicator with strong collaboration and relationship-building skills.
13. Highly organized, proactive, and able to work independently.
Assets
14. Experience with Google Looker or other analytics/reporting tools.
15. Knowledge of statistical analysis techniques.
16. Familiarity with operations data in Order Management, Supply Management, Product Line Management, Inventory, or Services domains.
17. Proficiency with MS Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
18. Demonstrated performance in:
